Resumen
Se presenta aquÃ, de manera sistemática, una hipótesis controvertida: la motivación básica de la invención griega del alfabeto fue la escritura de enunciados asociados a la tradición homérica, a la que hoy asignamos el término de "poética". Esta hipótesis, anunciada por diversos investigadores del mundo clásico, es una cuidadosa argumentación proveniente de dominios como la gramatologÃa, la arqueologÃa, la lingüÃstica y la historia. Por supuesto, esta detallada demostración podrÃa revelarse equivocada, pero por ahora nos parece la hipótesis más interesante y plausible acerca de uno de los inventos más importantes de nuestra historia intelectual: el alfabeto. Por esta razón nos parece imprescindible darla a conocer.
Abstract
It is presented here, in a systematic way, an hypothesis of controversy: the basic reason for the greek invention of the alphabet was the writing of statements coming from the Homeric tradition to which, nowadays, we assign the term "poetic". This hypothesis, proposed by many researchers from the classic world, is a careful argument which origin has taken place in fields such as grammatology, archaeology, linguistics and history. This detailed demonstration may be wrongly reveled, but it may now seem to us that this is the most interesting and plauble hypothesis about one of the most important inventions of our intellectual history: the alphabet. For this reason, it is indispensable that we present it.
